MVP Coach and now studio legend, Joan Dietchman has completed the Race Across America cycling race. She rode OVER 3000 miles and climbed an excess of 170,000 total feet.
She came across the line this morning after 12 days, 18 hours and 46 minutes of riding. Her story is one of sheer force of will, determination and pretty much everything that is right in the world of sports.
I got the chance to speak with her Friday afternoon, and it was nothing short of amazing because the enormity of what she was doing hit me like a ton of bricks. She is an amazing person, and INTEGRATE Performance Fitness is honored to have her a part of the studio's community!
CONGRATULATIONS JOAN!!!

COFFEE COFFEE COFFEE by Chrisi Keating
Coffee.
It’s an acquired taste; when you’re young you can’t stand it, then with
time you keep trying it till it starts growing on you, until one day
you can’t live without it! Whether you get an extremely long named
coffee drink that get the baristas mad or just a simple cup of coffee,
it’s hard to start the day without it. There are just some days (or
weeks in my case) that you can’t make it through the day without that
little jolt in the morning.
Here are some great recipes to get your day off to a great start!
Iced Coffee
1. Brew
a nice strong batch of coffee, and stick it in the fridge to cool it down.
2. Pour
cooled coffee over ice cubes in a big glass (Pint Glasses work well)
3. Add
milk and sugar as wanted, and enjoy!
*If you want to go for the extreme Iced Coffee you can freeze
some of the coffee in an ice cube tray to create coffee ice cubes for the
chilled coffee to be
served over!
The European Ice Coffee (Eiskaffee)
1. Brew
a nice strong batch of coffee, and stick it in the fridge to cool it down.
2. Serve
one or two scoops of vanilla ice cream in a big glass (Pint Glasses work well)
3. Poor
the cooled coffee over the ice cream
4. Top
with a bit of whipped cream, and enjoy!
*Best to be enjoyed with a straw and spoon

Good Luck Joan!! T-9 days and counting
IPF Community Member, Alan Bell is crewing for Joan Dietchman's assault on Race Across America (RAAM). He will be providing us reports from the road so we can follow Joan's progress.
Here's the first one!
"The
preparations are immense. The details are countless. And the tension is
starting to build. Joan Deitchman's attempt to complete and compete
solo RaaM (Race Across America) is getting close to the starting point -
Oceanside to Annapolis, 3050 miles, 13 days.
There are so many
activities playing out simultaneously, it is hard to keep track. The
training is in the taper stage. The bikes are getting their final
tweaks. All the vehicles are here.
Amazon Prime has been kept busy -
another order every day. And the empty and still full boxes litter the
Deitchman's house. Joan's husband Mike is busy training as a carpenter
to fill the vehicles with things to hold everything - bunks for people,
cabinets for the bike shorts, and tables for the coolers.
The crew is
trying to figure how to put all their stuff in a small bag - 2 shirts
and 2 shorts, and that's all the room they’re allowed. Everyone is
drawing their strength from Joan's monumental energy. As she puts it -
it is both exhilarating and terrifying at the same time. Not only for
her but also for everyone involved. The adventure will start soon."
